I could have told you long ago that you were doing lots of stuff with regard to weeMiche right. :)

Thanks KLee! You're so sweet!

Yes, good for you!

It's hard, though, isn't it? To let them mess up on their own?

Three cheers for external validation!! Now, why is it so hard to come by in the first place??

I'm such a perfectionist, this is one I really struggle with -- and one reason I love Simon's preschool so much. He comes home with crafts HE made, not things I orchestrated and supervised and micromanaged. Erm, not that I micromanage my kids' crafts. Often.

Andrea: it's much more difficult than I imagined it would be. Especially since weeMiche doesn't even want me to show her how to use things. She insists on diving in both feet first! I'm guessing this is good training for me for the homework years!

Dani: Mr. Miche always says I'd be a happier person if I wasn't so easily influenced by external energies. But that doesn't stop me from lapping it up when it comes! If you're ever feeling withdrawal from micromanaging, you'll have to come down here. I could stand to be micromanaged for a little while!

It's interesting how they suddenly learn how to do something in what we determine to be the correct way (glueing, cutting with scissors, etc), after months of doing it a la toddler way...

I know the pride you speak of when the little one exclaims how she did it all by herself! We have a wall in a hallway where we hang up our little guy's artwork. We got those inexpensive magnetic strips at IKEA, made 3 rows and used magnets to display the art.

I also took pictures of the art for the blog and flickr, as the artwork was getting a little plentiful, if you know what I mean. Then one day, after assuring myself that I had taken pics of all the artwork hanging on the wall, I removed most and recycled it. (bad mom...)

Poor Ben. He wanted to know where all his art was. It's been hanging there for the better part of a year and it never occurred to me that he would notice it missing...but I have to make room for more art...he seemed understanding and accepting of my explanation though. Sigh.

Nice to have you back! Happy typing!

Hey Claudette! Your Ben sounds like a very prolific artist! Those IKEA bars are terrific.

I'll be back in fits and starts for a while. Hope to be back full time ...
