Ah yes. We've had both a kiddie pool leak and, more traumatically, a leak into our one-week old 5000= litre capacity simple set pool a couple of years ago. A runny poop, nonetheless. No amount of shock could convince me it was clean, and we ended up draining the whole thing.
Doh! The kiddie pool sounds like a piece of cake next to the 5000+ litre mammoth!
I probably would have drained the whole thing too. Ergh.
