Here's another super-easy Christmastime treat that even *I* can't screw up: Mixed nut brittle.

Two cups of sugar
1 3/4 cups salted peanuts or mixed nuts
1 to 2 tbsp baking powder

Melt the sugar over medium heat in a big, heavy-duty saucepan. Sugar will first clump then liquefy. Stir frequently.

While melting sugar, coat the nuts with the baking powder.

When the sugar is liquefied, stir in the nuts. Stir until all nuts are coated.

Turn out onto a parchment paper covered pan and spread until brittle is approx 2 cm thick. Cool for 15 minutes or more, then break into large chunks and enjoy!

Ate some white chocolate peppermint bark today. I wished I liked the white stuff, but sadly, I'm always on the verge of barfing when I eat it. It doesn't stop me though. Candy is like sex and pizza - even when it's bad, it's still pretty good.

Sorry to hear that white chocolate doesn't agree with you. Then again, that does leave more for the rest of us....
