"It's been some years" is my answer to both. The only time I've been to Hernando's on Wellington was last summer, but I'd heard tell it was there for a few years.
I don't fully understand the connection with Mexicali Rosa's, but I think that goes back a while--maybe even ten years or more. (Interchangeable menus, or something?)
The social committee at $former_employer had Mexicali Rosa's cater in a couple of beer bashes, and the food was pretty good. It's not quite the same as having our good friend the Surly Waiter serve it, though.
tuxedo: I see I'm not the only one to not intuit the MCR - HH connection. I agree. The MCR food is pretty similar to HH -- but I sure missed Surly!
