Note To Self

Oh no.

Is this typical of student productions? Or are they just especially disorganized?

Still, how frustrating for you. Did you end up auditioning?

It depends on:
- how experienced the students are (third years are less disorganized than first years)
- the institution
- the thoughtfulness of the people involved

As a pleasant contrast, another student production for which I requested an audition, sent out an e-mail letting people know that schedules had changed and been pushed out to 2009 and they'd be contacting those interested at that time to see if they're still interested.

I would have auditioned if I could have been taken in 5-10 minutes. But I was too cheesed-off to spend an hour cooling my heels just to gain the experience of auditioning in front of clueless people.
