I love that kind of enthusiasm.

It seems wrong that most of us outgrow it.

Hi Jo(e) and welcome! It's great to see how excited toddlers get about things they love! (Not so much fun to see how excited they get about things they hate.)

I hope she doesn't outgrow that zest for life too soon. I hope some of it rubs off on me too!

When we were driving to Grammy and Grampy's house two weeks ago, we made Lyra's day REPEATEDLY by pointing out purple trucks to her (yes, there really are purple trucks).

"Did you see the purple truck, Lyra?"

"YEAH!!!!! I SAW IT!!!!!! I SAW A PURPLE TRUCK!!!!!!!!!"

And I turned to Lee and said that I wish such simple things could make me quite so happy.

Such enthusiasm! I love seeing it!

Mrs. Coulter: I think that's something I'm going to have to try. I think that for an hour today, I'm going to get completely excited about small things that make me happy!

(And I'm also going to try and find some purple trucks!)
