Speaking as someone who has been on the other side of that question, I say spill it early. The longer you lurk the weirder it will be for them and the harder it will be fo ryou to jump out of the closet. I'd leave a comment if they don't have an email address on their site.

I agree with Andrea. Send them an email, and let them know that you've found them. Better done sooner than later, and better done than left undone. At least then, it won't niggle at you anymore, you know?

That's why I like you ladies so! Exactly what I was thinking.

I left a couple of comments last week and then a follow-up e-mail to clarify.

No response.

Which means they're 1) super-busy, 2) a little wigged out by the whole thing or 3) they hope I stop reading their blog. Oh, I suppose that 4) my e-mail could be sitting in their spam bucket.

So much for the anticipated joyful reconnection!

Also speaking from the other side of the coincidence fence...

A former friend of mine - a former best friend, actually - left a comment on my blog, out of nowhere.

I was extremely surprised, and emailed her. She told me she had been reading it for more than a year! We hadn't had any contact in many years. It was very weird, and I felt she mishandled it.

Not a huge big deal, but it gave me a bad feeling.

I see you've already done it. Good luck!
